I will make this quick, One of the Cat motor graders I maintain (2001 120) is losing transmission fluid. No leaks, nothing anywhere out of the ordinary. Just at the very bottom of the dip stick about once a month unless we are using it a lot. We try not to because of the problem. The machinery equipment company that is Cat says its normal just keep an eye on it... Anyone have any suggestions, ideas, I would appreciate anything. Thank you.

Oil doesn't just evaporate. It has to be going somewhere. Is the oil level in other areas staying at normal levels? The leak has to be either internal or external.

What's the serial number on your grader? It's very strange that the dealer is telling you that.

First, I must apologize. This is a 120M2, transmission is serial number *LSZ01107*. Arrangement No. *396-8363*. Mr. JTWAT, I agree with you. All the rest of the fluids are at normal levels. Cat says it can't make it to the engine and be burned (this would also affect the aftertreatment system). We have no leaks (at least non that are notable). This is what makes it so crazy. I was informed this morning that the operator has been putting fluid in it too. We take samples every 6-9 months and the samples are good. It has baffled everyone here. The thought of a high-pressure pin hole leak came to mind thinking it could be shooting a spray that no one would notice or possibly only when it is in gear and moving down the road. But as to this day we have no idea and it has been to the machinery company twice for this. Thank you.
