I am looking at purchasing an 8500 pound Sany sy35 and am having a little trouble understanding towing capacity. I want to check my math before I make a mistake.
According to my 2021 Silverado 1500 crew cab short bed trailering guide, I have a GCWR of 15,000 pounds. This leaves me with a conventional trailer weight max of 9,500 pounds. By my research, I cannot find a 1,000 pound trailer capable of hauling an 8,500 pound excavator. Does this sound correct or am I misinterpreting nomenclature.
Appears gooseneck over conventional trailer is no different.
Thanks for the help!!!
