Although good, that one might have been a bit boring...... LOL

OCR

I didn't think it was THAT boring, although I would like a redundancy free copy of that report. I have to wonder if they add all the redundant bs just to make the report longer, and look more 'official'? Thanks for posting though, made for an interesting read.

Those pictures of the fire-dozers are awesome, such an amazing view. What an awesome sight to see.

Hello WesternStar,

I just happened to find, in my opinion, an outstanding wildfire web site a few days ago.

It's not quite set up like a forum, maybe a blog or similar, but you can post comments on the material he puts there... and of course I did... lol

Also, I use OCR, as my name there too... yes, I'll get to the point soon... :tong... lol

PS. You have an outstanding web site, very, very well done, I'm glad I found it!
Welcome, OCR, and thanks for the kind words. By the way, I'm assuming that "OCR" does not stand for optical character recognition.
Well Bill, your assumption is correct, and I'll bet that you Googled OCR also. I have. (grin)

Google these key words, if you'd like: wildland fire dozers

Should be the first hit, then scroll, and scroll. You'll understand when you get there; I'm still trying to figure out some stuff about posting here, so I'll explain what "OCR" means a little later.
So I just now went through all the many posts on that thread... and I find:

I also find... nobody ever said, "thank you, WesternStar".

So, I'll fix that... "Thanks, WesternStar", from every one who posted a picture you liked... :thumbsup :thumbsup

OCR...:)

I'm not an operator... I was looking to get into it, I was on a hotshot crew 3 seasons and an engine before that. Just pictures I took while I was on fires, thought people would like to see. I haven't been on this forum in a long time, was really surprised to see this thread on top.

Sounds like the firefighters, sadly, got caught in a tough spot. The report said that neither firefighter/operator deployed a fire shelter, what type of shelter is that referring to?
