(Topcon GPS Excavator) Hi we are a heavy construction company in the New England Area, and we have been having problems with the cables that run down the stick and boom. Also the connectors that screw into the tilt sensors. Has anyone else been having any issues with the cables being damaged easily and the connectors breaking. It just seems to me that the cables are not heavy duty and break.

This is an issue with many of the products in the industry. Quality cabling makes the product! Have you looked at getting cables from a 3rd party cable maker? I could get you some names if your still having trouble.

We run our cable inside a flexible protective sleeve (Orange conduit given to us on a jobsite by an electrician) and at the end it goes through an old hydraulic hose at the dog bone so the dirt doesn't damage it. Been using it for a year and not a single mark on the cable. Also helps only 1 person has been running that machine.

Hi,
We are running the same system for 1,5 years now. We havn't had any problems with the cables or connections. [until now ;-) ]

How long did you use the system until the problems started?

gr,
Desma.
