Hi guys.
I have bought a Takeuchi TL130. She's a bit beat up and I noticed gear oil leaking on the tracks, so I took the final drive out and gave it to a friend of a friend to fix.
Floating seals and bearing cost a few thousand and it took a few months to source them but got it all back together and installed it in the machine.
Found the large square hydraulic part at the back of the final drive where the hoses connect was leaking and the guy who did the seals said just take it off and put some sealant on it (which I did and tried to be careful to avoid any of the areas where oil flows but who knows).
Final drives not being something he has had experience with he took that part off not realising he didn't have to. He did have to replace the 5 bolts holding it in because they were stuffed.
After I put liquid gasket on it and did the bolts nice and tight, I reinstalled it and started it back up but there was no power to that side in forward or reverse, so I let it warm up for 10 minutes and tried again, it made a shuddering noise and starting working, awesome.
Except when I went to fill up gear oil I noticed it was full of hydraulic oil. When left unused it will slowly come out at slow drip if bung is out.
I figure there is a seal between gear/hydraulic side and I have taken cover plate off and I am currently at this point in the photo.
Any guidance from here would be very much appreciated.
TIA
PS: it drives absolutely fine now and all hydraulics work great (only driven for about a minute) and I have all hydraulic filters coming in the mail.
PPS: the four connectors that go into the back of the final drive, which the hoses connect to, anybody know where to source new ones?
Anybody know a reliable source to get new final drives for these machines that's not a ridiculous price (I am in Australia) because at this point I'd be willing to buy two new final drives and not have to worry about it anymore unless it's going to be an easy fix - but probably not willing to pay over $12,000 combined, probably dreaming.
