You know if this place is still around. I'm only a couple of hours from Augusta.

I think it's changed names and moved out on hiway 25. I was told they crushed all the old stuff while moving to the new site. What a crying shame:crying there was an old Sterling wrecker that was used as a tank retriever this thing was a 100 yards long the hood was the first 75. Well it looked that long anyway and it was chain drive if I remember correctly. She had a single third member with a sprocket on each end of the axle chains from ther to the front and rear tandems. What a truck I bet it would have run all of 45 mph down hill with a good tail wind. May have a pic. of it some where around this place if I find it I'll post it.Well I guess i've shown my weak spot (OLD IRON) ok now the new name of the place pops in my mind CMS.

Good site. :yup I've seen that company on the TV a couple times.

kinda tricky moving that light house huh?

Hey you ain't far from Waner Robins AFB I pickup surplus there sometimes.I have a cousin in the surplus biz.I do a little hauling for him but only the stuff that makes him a little nervous. You know sea cans, water buffalos, ambulances, expandable shelters or anything over sized or heavy. These places amaze me with all types of equipment every where ya look.

Yup, thats only about 45 min. from me. The military gets to play with all the cool stuff and that same stuff was built to last. There's a little place right down from Smily's flea market off of Highway 247 that has alot of surplus too. I've bought a couple things from there. He has alot of equipment out there like forklifts, plane taxis and I think there was a whole plane body too. I told Jeff D. I would go out there to look for a ratchet binder thingy for him but have yet to make it out there. Maybe you have seen one of them. Click Here.

I think that was on Modern Marvels or something like that. They walked it cross country in Germany to a new mine. One minute I think it was 25 miles then the next I think its more like 8 miles so I guess I can't remember. The sheer size of it is incredible. The three cranes on it just to service it is wild. Great picture!:thumbsup

That is an interesting approach & would work until one of the drivers applied brakes or swerved or any mismatch in driving. And that's when the:shf Can you imagine trying to coner that deal outside guy would have to be in the lead ever so slightly just to keep the trailers square with each other. I would like to watch these guys going down the road:popcorn. I think I would rather try to drive the cat down the road I see they already have a police escort. Anyway very  pics.
