Did you get to work on that job?

That day no . But the two weeks of prep work yeah . In and out a bunch with the rehab . Once the spans got to to a parking lot across the tracks from union station , the spans spent months going through repairs .

Also the boss's they interviewed for the move are sickening to watch when the camera is on ... Hollywood magic , They edited the idiot of him.

Most of the move day work was Vics Heavy hauling out of Rosemount MN plus Kansas City Power and light crews moving power lines.

If you look close the bridge needs to set over the last support but with the section that is already in place the top beams over hang the bottom beams . Can't just set it in place .... has to come up from the bottom and rotate over the close building support and come from underneath the existing section .

Well its been a day or so since I posted in this ,Figured you needed a rest .Went to Lawrence , Kansas with a Grove 5120 .
This may be an odd deal for some of you but the machine was brought in to take down a fat flag pole .The flag pole is actually a cell antenna mount base is steel and the top is a hollow fiberglass tube . When they put it up there wasn't a cell provider that wanted the space.

Until now , Took the empty pole down so they could load the antennas inside . Will put it back up later this week .I told you all that to tell you this ...:tong

Stuck the machine together (had to put the jib in it) and this building is a hotel with several restaurants in it and a well shaded spot with comfortable chairs and tables . Pretty sweet place to sit and wait for someone to be done working

Yep, the Fritzels are clever like that. The city wouldn't let them put antennas up there so they added "flag poles" to the desgin instead. I was over that way around 3 today. Would have seen the boom if I had looked up the hill.

Full time crane operator for Crane Rental Corp sin
That's a good reason to fire the erection supervisor!

Blocking like that under the carbody pads was a huge mistake. No way that would fly at my company. The operator would be looked at real closely too for reprimand.
Thursday it was another KTU job,Difference is this time is the 777 way sent to McPherson Kansas to a refinery.Instead a rental company rented a crane from another rental company. :) Makes perfect sense :beatsme

Anyway their setup man was having a bad day.Rained the day before and if you left the hard pack you were stuck. Think the 1st pic was the 2cd time stuck.

Also the strap used was his as we are banned from using straps after they are used to pull like that.

Then the carbody jacks use a separate set of lines hooked to the house.Works good but you can't swing 360 as you can see.Tore the lines off.

Also just before the lines wear fubared for some reason it was jacked up to the max. Then with the lines broke there was no way to bring it back down.In my opinion a bad idea to attempt the tracks but the set up guy didn't seemed worried.

Also I did Not like the blocking under the carbody outrigger pads.
