Starting Problem - Bobcat 753

Hey Ralph (and maybe moderators too).. I have a small list of equipment - with user manuals, parts manuals and service manuals.. I have run into a problem with my 753 which of course I do not own a service or parts manual for (go figure)

So my question is this.. considering the cost of all of these manuals (My Case tractor manual and service book were over 900 bucks combined - talk about falling out of a tree and getting beaten to death by the cash monkey). Who thinks (and this is where I have to question the ethics and legal ramnifications of such a proposal) that it would be a very useful thing to have at hand a resource for the manuals to all the equipment we all run online?

I for one need to figure out why my traction lock hold open circuit warning will not go away on my 753 (I will be posting this question right after this one - 3 posts before I can post a new thread - you are my third) :drinkup

I have plenty of online webspace that I could offer up to store the manuals if we could create a link in this forum - does anybody fancy sharing theirs too? Ralph - your manuals interest me quite a lot right at this time :) How much did you pay for them?

thanks and sorry if I have gone beyond the etiquete boundary here :notworthy

I'm pretty sure you'd be in violation of copyright laws in doing so. I understand your effort, but due to the legal ramification, I wouldn't support a link to them. I'm not passing judgment, just watching my back.

are you going to be able to do this?

Reading between the lines I would say the answer is no.

If you knew somebody who had something you wanted to borrow and you contacted them direct and asked nicely you might be suprised by the response. ;)

There is a solenoid underneath the cab that goes into the chaincase. I now that these burnout/become jammed from time to time.
Are there any codes listed on the meter?
How to see the codes is in your owners manual.
I hope this helps.

This may sound odd.
But have you tried tapping the starter with a hammer?
How old is the starter and does your battery have a good charge?

tried taping starter with a hammer, worked one time, not this last time though. Would the starter being bad cause the machine to quit though? The battery is new in august, i dont know about the starter. When and where should there be power to the 2 little terminals on the starter?

I am having the same type problem with my 2001 773. I get a error code of 03-14 and lights on the panel (3 of 4). Any idea what the error code is pointing to? (house got flooded after I got the machine and manual, think the manual was tossed in the aftermath).
Looks like I need to get a new manual.
Thanks
Larry

Well, I went back and got a better set of jumper cables and was able to get the battery back to where it would turn over the starter after seeing your reply. It started fairly quickly, so I let it run for about 30 minutes and turned it off, then restarted it. Thanks for the advice. Hope I can be helpful to someone in return. Larry

well if that solved it have your battery load tested, it may stay good short term but over a few days it wont restart, if that checks out it must be a ground or other loose connection somewhere. hope it something simple for you
