i need to remove the master pin and remove the track on my CAT D6N sn:djy00987. Pivot shaft was quite neglected by the previous owner…. All the pins appear the same around the track when i am looking for the master pin. Can anyone explain how this track is best removed? This machine is new to me so I don’t quite understand how the track assembly is put together. Thanks!

It looks like your machine left the factory with System one undercarriage. If it still has System one fitted, and, if you are lucky, you should see a link that looks like either one of these two. If so, remove the track pad and knock the links off with a hammer and punch.

If all the links look identical, you will need special tooling to split the track.
