L.C.I.R.

The one shows me going up El Hill.
I did that hill many times in reverse.
I'm still not sure why.

I rolled at the top of Bronco Hill.
The front lifted at the very top.
Almost stood it up on the spare tire...
Came close to going end over end...
which really would have hurt.
At the last second, it pivoted on the right rear,
landed on its top then came to rest on the passenger side.
It took almost 2 hrs to get it rolled back over without sliding down the rest of the way.
It's amazing how much spare change you find when you give your jeep a good rolling over. :D

Oh yeah....almost forgot...
Here's what I did today.
I took this Allison out of one of the flatbeds at my side gig.
I'll pick a rebuilt trans up later this week and get her put back in.

Tonight, I'll pull the trans out of my Dodge and get ready to install a new twin disk.
The stock clutch is weak to start off with.
Towing heavy + adding some power is often the end of them.
A double disk should work fine with 400hp.

Any FJ Cruisers around?

Pete, I figured you got enough bouncing around on that 8R, but NO!
I'll be in Indio for a couple more weeks so I'll look for a Dodge Duely or an upside down Jeep! You watch for a blue FJ with Alaska plates!

Laird River/Hot Springs on the Alaska Hwy. The heard just wanders around! Driving fast in the fog at night can be deadly!

Hey Pete!

Are you still working on your truck??
Or are you taking care of your little(??) princess?

Long time since you have been operating the heavy equipment?

Working on my Dodge just about killed me.
I've had back problems since 1996.
I took a bad fall while throwing a tarp over a load.
It's a long story...the dr.'s, therapy, drugs.....
Anyways, I've ended up with some nerve damage.
Any time I do some of the things that I shouldnt be doing....
like working on my truck, jumping off of something, lifting something heavy....
Normal stuff like I used to do will wreck me....
I can't get any sleep because my arms will go numb which wakes me up.
All I have to do is move just a bit and the pain goes away.
But then it comes back.......over and over....all night.
I've always been able to deal with it....
But it's bad this time.
I sometimes loose my strength/grip which makes it hard to turn wrenches.
It feels like one or both arms are wrapped real tightly in Ace bandages..
My fingers will tingle like when you cut the circulation off.
I move just so...it goes away.
I move the wrong way, it comes back.
I went in to the shop today after taking it easy for a few days.
I had a hell of a time.
Some of the others who work there can tell that I'm having a hard time by the way I walk.
I've always been able to hide or disguise any pain.
Seems like I've lost my touch.

I've been out on the crane some...
I've also been getting ready for the Coachella music festival.
I work there every year maintaining fork lifts, reefer trailers and gen sets used at the concert.
I usually start around the 14th working in the evenings a few hours every night.
On the 26-28th, its 20 hrs. a day while the show is on.
Then its a repeat the following week for the Stagecoach Festival.
More info on both can be found at the link.
http://www.coachella.com/

Yesterday I did make it San Diego to spend some time with Lindsay.
She's come such a long way in a short time.
It still blows me away :usa
She flies out on Saturday for Tokyo then Guam where she'll meet up with the USS Nimitz.
She says to all, "Hello and thanks for all of the support"

I actually decided to get up off my rump and do something productive today
This is the 86 International I've been working on.
I'll set the Allison back into it in the morning.
