At the time Kiangaroa was the worlds largest manmade exotic forest covering 1.25 million acres. Planting started during the Great Depression in the 1930's as a work for the dole scheme.

That sure is interesting history, kinda like what the US did during the depression without the Nazi nostalgia.

If you want a quick laugh, search for "always blow on the pie" when you're done watching the kiangaroa film, also an interesting difference between US and other parts.

There is a more recent 2016 NZ tv series 'The Loggers' funded with equivalent to US$306K for ten lots of half hour episodes. Been shown twice? on local nz cable tv , could do with a wider audience.
