When you say travel is way to slow I have to ask compared to what? Have you seen other machines and compared their travel rate to theirs? Do you have a service manual the gives a spec for travel speed? Does the machine travel in a straight line both ways when you move it?

What you can do is run cycle times on the boom up function for a quick check of machine performance. Run the stick all the way out, put the bucket in the dump position and set it all down on the ground. With the engine at full throttle and the machine set in its highest production mode, left the boom from the ground all the way till it tops out. Time the function with a stop watch or the second hand on a watch. It should be somewhere around four seconds or less.

Let us know what you find.

Is it slow in one direction or both?
Does the blade creep at all?
Do the travel levers move correctly? Focus on them are they loose left and right, is there a large “neutral” between forewards and back?
Are they cable or pilot operated?
