Old conventionals at work

Heres a few pictures a couple of mine and some of contractors i operate for. Any one else have any old timers at work today?

Here's a couple of the cranes I run. 1969 p&h 670 1970 p&h 790 and 1981 p&h 430 I also run a 45 ton bay city truck crane The last picture was just the other day running the 430 in a tight spot setting whalers on a sheet wall

Those are some great pictures, I've never been around anything but hydraulic cranes.

I've only ran one hydraulic crane and I hate it

Here's the hydro crane I run every once in a while and I hate it. It is nothing but problems and is hard to run smoothly

P&Hs are nice cranes to run to ,very smooth. Heres a 140 ton i run for a mining co. when they are short on operators

And the oldest in my Fleet on a barge doing log recovery in a pulp mill

I don't like how p&h cranes don't have windshield wipers

Yes hard , with those helicopter windows. The magnatorque swing is nice and the drum dogs are handy to stall the torque against for fine lowering. Nice old cranes you have there to ryanmueller. I run Americans mostly tough cranes but rough on the swing unless they are the hydrostatic ones

Tugger that 22B Old Style was from Princeton, Merv used to have 3 of them here in town. Always wondered where they ended up. He had one that he rebuild just like new . His son still lives here

Yes it is. I had the pleasure of meeting Merv and buying both the 22B and the 15B from him. And yes the the 22B is like a new old crane. I had to leave his old style sign on the side as a sign of apreciation to the work that was put into that crane.

The magnetorqe on the 790 is really jerky. I've tried adjusting it and cleaning everything up but no luck. The 670 however is really smooth

That looks a lot like the 430tc I run at work

Mine had the wakeshua gas in it , nice and quiet to work with. The juice frictions used to make us crazy until we put a tiny air pump on the resevoir tank after that it was good.Finally wore the old crane out and scrapped it, It was a good crane for timber dock work, not too heavy but a good lifter.

This one has a v6 Cummings in the upper and a 6v71 in the lower. It's an ex core of engineers machine and only has 700 original hours. It's practically a brand new machine. We have power down for both drums sitting on a pallet in the shop. Hopefully sometime this year the boss will let us put it on

My link belt ls58 has a Waukesha gas and even with a muffler, ear plugs are mandatory and for some reason it was painted white so I repainted it fairly quickly
