Looking online Parker calls these Triple Lok 2 soft seal fittings. They are 37 deg. JIC. Are they very common? Seems like they could solve a lot of leaking issues. Sorry for the blurry pic.

Here's another option for leaking JIC fittings, work pretty good if fitting is not too damaged:

Sorry there isn't any picture for them, but they are thin copper gaskets that fit over the tapered end of fitting where the dimension "A" is shown. Won't seal a badly damaged fitting but work good for ones that just seem to seep.

Especially when you spend hours and dollars to replace an 0 ring that's worth only a few cents. Then to find out the 0 ring kit you have hasn't got the correct one.

Flare-Tite are a similar style sleeve that fits over the male end. I don't need to repair a leak, I just noticed these fittings when I took the articulation valve off the grader. There must be a reason they are used instead of standard JIC fittings?

It was a "better idea" to combat o ring face seal fittings. When GM built the Saturn plant the o ring seal JIC fitting was the standard. They were a pain in the butt and did not work very well.
