Those are great, thanks.
Koens90:
All excavators on Projects have 3d. The 3 most usual ones is Trimble, Topcon and Scanlaser.
And dozers, graders and even compactors.
On most Projects you get the models from the Builder.
You just copy them on usb sticks or they download them from the database and directly into the machines.(machines have a cellphone modem)
Today you will not see any stakes on Projects.
Even the Army where i work has 3d on graders and dozer..
RonG: A couple of years ago a European contractor, Alpine, whon a job here. Then for the first time in 7-10 years stakes was put up. No one could beliewe in what they saw. Whell, they went bankrupcy in some months. Not due to this Project..but. Over here the wages is so high, that GPS saves you a lot of manhours.
Koens: The Norwegian maping authorothy has a service you can pay for. You just pay for the correction signals over the mobilphone network. The machine Calls up and receiwes the signals over phone. They have a number of gps recievers all over Norway so they can calculate a correct correction value.
Most big Contractors set up their own base on a fixed spot on the work site. The phone system is very positive for surveyors as you can go where ever you want, and just get corrections into Your mapbook.
