I have a buddy with an older John Deere 450. I do not know how old it is exactly. He has a serious issue with the injector pump. JD says that parts are no longer available for his tractor. They did tell him that there is an upgrade kit for it.

PN# AR69819 Price: $1,432.54

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there any cheaper options out there for it?

Tell your buddy to take it to fuel pump rebuilder
It should have come with a Roosta /Stanadine pump
Quite often it is a rubber drive that disintegrates and blocks pump

Any reputable pump rebuild shop can take care of it for less than $1,32.54. Deere also seems to have a real opinion of what their parts are worth for everything.
