Here is another one from CR area, woundering if the checker plate roof is from a repair or could it have come from factory? HDX, did you say some went oversea's that had factory roofs like this?

The WHD above was the second truck of a 4 truck order by Kuala Lumpur They were sold through AirMac International and delivered by CanTrans Services LTD Went to Indonesia as logging trucks with 40Ton Hayes logging trailers BD91,000 rears and 5960 Allison Trans 8V71T GM Engines with Schwitzer air starters 14:00X24 tires and no water tank--Hayes supplied a special cab guard for them. As for the checker plate cab roofs--I talked to John Rotar who was the chargehand of the Hayes Cab Section many years ago and he told me they developed this as a special option for severe service such as the kind of work these trucks would be exposed to. There was a number of trucks that these cabs were used on He said it was a real tough job to get them dialed in but when finished they were really something They even had a special cab number for them 6860AKI. Back in the mid 80s there was a number of Pacifics and Hayes's brought back to Canada by a used equipment dealer here in BC and these trucks might have been part of that shipment I know of three of them that surfaced here and went through R/B auctions over the years

From work,to death row,to saved,to bathed,to run again. This one is part of the same deal as the restored P10 earlier followed.Taken a year and a half ago and then a few months ago.Was a Jay-Vee Logging truck, then Christianson Bros Logging at north Stave Lake, now Pitt Lake I think. Sorry, this was a duplicate photo post I did earlier,I dont know how to delete though, just the photos deleted, sorry, have lots of other ongoing stuff to share though!

Page 20 of this thread 1st picture the blue HD or it's sister is for sale here in McMurray as I have seen the 2 trucks together in a picture many years ago near Kamloops in a yard. It is missing the trailer but is bascally complete with the exception of the headlight buckets. Any idea what it is worth and who other than Hayes Truck Org has info on the trucks?

P Kennedy , that blue HD was sold at the Surrey RB auction in the early 90s. Was owned by Roy Doyle in Sechelt. Do you have any pics of the one in your area?

I can get some pictures and want some anyways and have the opportunity to buy it. But I was told the owner who was trying to get it certified in Alberta to work it passed away while it was in the storage yard. Now this brings some more questions about the actual ability for the storage yard to sell it for owed storage fees and where is all the paperwork. They have already allowed parts to be taken off of the truck. Any info would be good but the Hayes Truck Org only does Outlook which I dont use and no phone numbers are available. I was going to get the serial number but had other things to accomplish today.

If u get a chance, post a couple pics. And if u get the serial # perhaps Hdx could find some more history of the truck. What name is on the door now?

OK today I got some OK pictures and I am sure ther is a procedure to get them on here. Without poking around I could not see a serial number in the location on the frame rail below the steering box. The storage yard has legal possesion due to unpaid storage for 4+ years and can pick it up for $1500.00. Name on the left lower side of the cab is A. Doga, BC plate was active when the truck came to Alberta.
