GreatwestCam, Thanks anyway - yes I guess HDX can ad some information - it seems some even had a shorter wb than 225". Here are some pices of a Forshner 1974 HDX with extra long wb - maybe this is #113

Broke in on this truck in 97, only truck in the fleet that has the older style air shift trans.

The picture of# 4 unit is the first truck posted in this thread at RB auction looking pretty good here,Surrey,B.C.years ago

Post # 286 was owned by Roy Doyle. I still have the chrome grizzly bear off the hood & grizzly interior door panel off that truck before it went to the auction.

Tyyota; What made her odd is her preload configuration. BCFP never bought pre-loads in that configuration all theirs were the folding reach type. See my pic of her post #33 at BCFP Thread and HDXs post#42 at same Thread.
Pic below showing Pacific P16 unit #40-139 with folding reach type.

oddball preloads

Hi i think these were original convential trucks that were converted to preloads notice the outside edge at top of trunnion chair is tilted out wards for turntable mount preloads were staight flat, center of 5th wheel deck shaft should be in the center looking from side view. this one is forward of center. webbing on outer edge of frame rail should extend all the way to just under fuel tank, airtank placement is differant, looks like all Hayes parts, example saddle,s on back of water tank are correct and 5th wheel lift rails are right. the frames were all the same measurement'a other than front axle placement.

Trakloader Was talking to Dave Whiskin the other nite and he said to thank you for posting the 6-249 pics Dave drove her after Johnny went dispatching and drove her right up till the day he had to take her to Port Alberni to have the 5th wheel assy changed over at Port Machine to the Crown Z/ M&B style. then she went for a barge ride to where she is now

Hayeslogtruck Although she looks different not all of them had the frame webbing all the way up like ours Depended on the truck This was delivered to CrownZ as a Preload in 1974 but the only thing in question is how she came to have the BCFP color scheme Most of the Crown Hayes's came with 71,000 rears not 91s as well some had the set forward front axle and some had the standard set back front axle The water tank could have very well been changed while she was at Courtenay because remember all the preloads they cut up there and the rest were converted to Fire Tankers--These all had the water tanks removed and they were piled up in a heap in the yard. It could well be that maybe the fuel tank was cracked between the water tank and the fuel tank and was getting water in the fuel and they could have taken the water tank off and stuffed one of the others on. It looks kind of not quite right but when you look at it up close the fuel tank on it has been beat to crap with logs so it could well be it was also changed Same as the air tanks these could have been relocated over the years due to damage. I have pictures of some of Crown Zs HDX trucks with Pacific 5th wheels mounted on them So it seems that they just adapted whatever they needed to make it work I will go through them and try and figure out how to post them cause this is getting very interesting

Thanks, Hayesno1! I think T-330 is ex-QCD H-259. It would make sense, too, as 258 is now T-329. Do we have any members working for "The Duke" that could get her serial number??

Hayesno1 The pics you just posted clearly show the two different 5th wheels used by Crown Z 40-59 has the Pacific style 5th wheel and saddle mounted on the rear of the water tank and 40-71 has the HDX style 5th wheel and saddle
