I think I need a new starter for my 1971 ford 4500 tlb.
It's a 3 cylinder diesel
Do I get the 5" or 4 1/2"
Anyone know the part #?

Go to Messicks.com and look up the part number for the diesel starter.

Not sure about the diameter of the starter but Dixie lists these as being a direct replacement for the 4 1/2 and 5 inch diameter starters. https://www.dixie-electric.com/asrpic/TB/TB25-260-62157.pdf
