Hi folks. Quick question we have a mercedes 906 engine here that was recently overheated. We wer pulling out the liners with a hydraulic pullers. The jig must not have been straight when we started to pull 1 of them and we cracked the block. It cracked down at the crankcase end where the block is only about 10mm thick around the liner. It gets thicker about an inch up and the crack hasnt spread that far it is only a hairline crack an inch long. Will i get away with this or is the block scrap

Are you a gambler? If it's not in the water jacket area, drill the ends of the crack and stitch it, probably run for years. Somewhere on here there's a thread about block repair.
