The 8S3970 chamber uses a 1P7324 glow plug (117.5mm long) spark plug terminal type connector.
The 3T8706 glow plugs are to short (85mm long with small stud terminal)

Took everything to Cat yesterday.....found that I have the wire terminals for the spark plug type plugs which doesn't match the 3T8706 plugs I have with the small terminal.
They sort of fit but always thought they weren't very secure.
They didn't have the 1p7324 plugs but had an alternate 3T9562 which seems to be the same.

Think the longer plugs will work ok.....they have a little less clearance between them and the fuel lines but should be enough. I don't know if the mismatched terminal had anything to do with them burning out after a short time....doesn't seem likely but we'll see how these work.

Part of Cat's goofy numbering system
3S9624=3T9562=1P7324=4S7824=9H4577
In spite of all the different numbers there are only 4 different 3/8-24nf glow plugs. One each in 12v and 24v short with small stud terminals and one each in 12v and 24v long with spark plug type terminals.
