I have a 2000 NH 655e backhoe 4x4 and want to change the hoe control pattern from Deere to CAT, its a standard 2 level control. whats the best way to switch the controls to CAT??
no, dont swap around the hoses. different systems are valved according to some smart guys hydraulic evil plans. you will have to change over the linkages. will probally take a little fabricating but get creative and you can do it.
Ford used to have a kit for the 555A machines. It consisted of a set of linkage rods bent so that they would connect to the levers as usual but they now line up with the correct spool for the change in function or you could make up your own rods.
Not sure if this applies to the 655 but it is worth checking into.
You can't just switch pipes because not all the valve sections have the same circit relief pressures, you could end up with low power on a function that requires full power.
