My source shows it as a 1966 D6B. I don't know what engine would be in there.

Can anyone tell me the year of this Caterpillar 426 Series II? If I have the right number, I believe the Serial number to be 7BC04523. I’m attaching a picture of the plate. 85FB4337-F625-493F-9193-575994E8DAF4.jpeg I appreciate it.

Thanks so much! Is there anyway to see reported hours from a last service in? I’m being told it’s around 2000 hours, but the hour meter is broke stopped on 724. Going out to look at the machine today.

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.

I'm sorry, only the dealer who sold and serviced it (if in fact it was dealer-serviced) will have that information.
Neither are there any electronics on it that could be interrogated to get actual machine hours.
If the hour meter is broken all bets are off, forget the hour meter and go on machine condition when making an offer would be the way to go.
If you were to buy it the first thing on your list should be a complete service and change all fuids.

Thanks again. Looks decent from pictures other than the seat bottom being past due for replacement.

It's a 1966 model machine is the best I can do. I don't know if the model will show in Cat's computer records but if so someone should be along soon.
