Hi

Have a Cat D6N Ser number OPBA02065 Year 2014

She has come up with a code of 673-2 (powertrain Fault)

Google has told be transmission output speed sensor 2 ? Would any one know where on the trans it would be please.

Also Looking on the dash under powertrain status. its showing spd3 clutch solenoid current 70.9% when its in nurture.

Im guessing its just the sensor playing up

Any help would be spot on

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
673-2 is the signal from the transmission output speed sensor #2 "erratic, intermittent, or incorrect". It may well be a wiring fault. There is no access to this sensor because it is buried inside the component. Removal of the transmission is required to get at the sensor. So cross your fingers that the sensor is not the problem...........

See where the attached troubleshooting procedure gets you.
Ihe schematic in it is only an abbreviated one showing the wiring for the sensor. If you want a complete electrical schematic for the whole machine please ask.

10100hr on the old girl
If the transmission is original you're not too far away from a transmission overhaul in that case. All the transmission intermediate/output speed sensors, internal wiring harness and clutch solenod valves would normally be replaced in said overhaul.
There are two output speed sensors and the tranny will operate just fine with only one, although if that 2nd one gives up the ghost you have will a beached whalle on your hands.
