Hi
My Cat 140g has behaved and worked well since the last few issues. Now Operator says it would not move.
If you jack wheels up, the left side wheels does not turn but right side wheels turn.
Chain is intact. The left side didn't have oil.
Topped up oil however no different.

Any idea what could cause this?
Side shaft? Diff?

If it was out of oil you probably have some seized up bearings in that chain case.

Can you turn the left side wheels by hand at all with them in the air? If not, see above.

Does it load the engine down and try to move when in low gear? If not, then yes you probably have a stripped spline or broken shaft.

Have you tried moving it with the diff lock engaged?
