Cat 140 H hour meter not adding

Have a Cat 140 H serial number: CAT0140HT2ZK07560.

The hour meter displays the hours but does not add time. Have constant power from red wire with engine on or off. No power from green wire with engine on or off.

There should be the same 403 green wire on the “R” terminal of the alternator, thats what starts the hour meter counting when the engine is running. Confirm it is connected, do you have a charge light on also?

Yes charge light stays on.
