Case 9050 crank no start

We just bought a 1996 case 9050b with an m11 Cummins, it was running great and out of nowhere it idled down and just died. We found out one of the batteries was junk so we replaced it and now it will crank but no fire. There’s no smoke when it’s cranking so we changed fuel filter and it fired up and ran for about 5 minutes then died again, will start on ether. New to these types of engines, anything I need to check that could be preventing fuel from getting to the engine?
