I have a Case 580C in excellent condition from all appearances, 3,500 hours, cab, barn kept, gets used very little. Never been in belly deep water in the 4 years I have owned it.
All the fluids were changed about this time last year and I have probably put less than 100 hours on it since then.
It has not been started for about a month.
Yesterday I noticed the there was fluid dripping from the dipstick tube for the shuttle transmission. The dipstick tube was completely full. I am not sure how much leaked out- I suspect less than a few ounces. It is parked on a clay dirt barn floor and the oil spot was about 8" diameter. The fluid looks good-like new.
We recently had some below zero weather which is sort of uncommon for us.
I have a 18yr old feller that helps me some and he said he had not added any fluid to it. I have not added any and I am quite certain it was at the correct level when we changed the fluid a year ago.
My questions-
What would cause this?
Do I need to check anything before I start it?
Thanks, Greg
