    Fine grading with gps

When I ran a 140H, I couldn't run both sides on auto at once. It would duck walk. On the 140M I run now no problems with both sides, but I still usually run 1 side manual and every thing comes out smoother

    cat m popularity

I am a 20 year grader operator. This is my forth year in my 140m and I love it. 95 percent of the time I am finish grading. The only thing I don't like is the clutch in reverse. I have a little plate mounted on my ripper bar and we do parking lots with a lot of corners. If I back in hot and jam...

    M Series : Round 2

When I got the last set of software upgrades on my 140m (Speed settings for blade control) it made it a different grader. It took all the jump out of the hydrolics. They did that middle of last summer and I love it now Later Mike

Ease & Longevity of Cat M series

I'm at about 1000 hrs now and heres what's up. A new set of injectors, left hand joy stick ( reverse went out, no replaceable parts $2000 parts) AC (hose had holes in it where it ran through the articulation) pump that runs the brakes and fan. I like it a lot better than G's & H's for all the...

Ease & Longevity of Cat M series

400 hrs I,m at 400 hrs in the 140m. It's getting really comfortable. cat came out and fixed the steering, so now it drives straight (well almost) when its centered so cutting edges has gotten much easier. I lost an injector today, We called Cat and they already had a job open on this grader and...

    140M Pics

I'm about 250 hours into a 140m and it's starting to get really comfortable. I have had 6 software upgrades so far and so far the most I notice are I think 3 or 4 in the tranny and clutch witch have helped greatly. I bet I get a lot more updates as the summer goes on. I am...

Ease & Longevity of Cat M series

140m I agree with about everything that has been said. the steering not being straight in the detent position is very frustrating. The clutch is very hard to take off slow and accurate. We have a couple of newer H's and the clutch feels like the M as compared to my 10 year old H witch was very...

Ease & Longevity of Cat M series

Got the grader back with the Trimble system on it and it works great. Finished a subdivision today and the tracer for cutting edges worked great, much better than on my last H, but that was 10 years old. the slope control works great also. Everything seems much more accurate and the interface to...

Wildcat I'll let you know how they are in tight areas. My company does a lot of real small tight jobs, at least I have been in pretty wide open so far. Later Mike

Ease & Longevity of Cat M series

I am on day 7 running a 140m. It gets better every day. oh yea a little background. I have about 30,000 hours in G's and H's for a paving contractor in Salt Lake. To me the hardest things to get used to are, 1. everything I used to do with my left hand i now do with my right. 2. Backing up...
