    Looking at Telehandlers-Need Some Input

If you windup with a few in your area to look at, first thing I would do is check out local dealerships. More so from the prospective of, whatever you buy, you will need parts at some point. How does it go - buying a dealer! Even if its secondhand. Next thing you already have a skidsteer, so...

Looking to buy my first telehandler and would appreciate any advice- Ontario canada

Got a 2011 531-70 JCB, so predates stuff like DPF etc... Only a baby, the smallest of their large series produced at the time. Not using it anywhere but my own place, so not copping scrutiny about stuff like crack testing of the boom. On average of course a late model should be less...

    all terrain forklift with remotes

Hi, Currently looking around for a all terrain forklift. It needs to be under 6000 Kg as due to the payload limit of my truck. On occasions it will need to be transported. The yard is a mix of gravel and dirt, which of course becomes mud this time of year. So I cant see a standard forklift...

new to me Leyland Cranvel backhoe

It has a 4 cyl diesel. BMC interesting. More research into this for sure. Yes and yes. The fan belt looks like it has seen better days, so will be interesting when I have to change it. The front axle pivot assembly is around the drive shaft from hydraulic pump.

new to me Leyland Cranvel backhoe

That's exactly what it is. On the donk its got 1500 on it. Can only assume it means 1500 cc. Admittedly I Don't know much about this hoe yet. Just know from looking around at various sites and drive buys of machinery joints that Leyland stuff seems to be still around the traps. How...

new to me Leyland Cranvel backhoe

Picked this up yesterday She sure aint a new one, but it should do for my needs. The hoe itself doesnt have a "side shift", instead has two pivot points. My first thing will the customary fluid and filter change The clutch will need attention soon, there doesnt seem to be much travel...

MF40 with backhoe. Anything special to look out for?

Hi, All going well I will be going up country (about 1.5 Hr from here) next week to have a look at one. Anything special the collective can think of that I should be wary of? I know these arent exactly a new machine, so this unit will have some niggling issues. Just dont think I will...

    Small prob with my ripper

Maybe something like, "jatt conquers rock with a 20 tonne!!" :D Neally as glad as me. Wont repeat the words I used (might get me kicked off!). All I could think of was what else have u killed in the process. I Suddenly gained some more respect for the rigidity of my elcheapo tractor.

    Small prob with my ripper

Hi all, Dunno how pa managed to do it. Ripping thru a paddock of clay. Trust him to find a big underground rock. Nuthin was pulled up to the surface, so can only assume it must be faily substantial. No apparent damage to tractor, just a bent top link.

Told to upgrade from my "powered wheelbarrow"!!

Hi, Yep just another newby kickin tyres in the yard. Teenage years spent on the old grey MF and Cranvel backhoe. After a long stretch now have my glorified towmotor aka "wheelbarrow" as local earthmover guy calls it. Definitely not dinkum construction gear, so am on the lookout for...

Have you checked your diesel tank lately?

Blueboy you are safe. I only "help out" locally :) These days the old boy is the one who loses the sockets. Either its a case of payback or he is just going a bit senile and forgetting where he left stuff :D

JCB 1CX - Have you used one?

Well folks you have convinced me, now to try and find one that hasn't been battered too much. So far the only listings in my part of the world havent even listed the hours on the machine. Say things like ex telco......hmmm to me that screams multiple operators, many of whom couldnt give a...

Have you checked your diesel tank lately?

I'm with whats already been said. Apparently when I was a kid I "was helping the old man" by dropping a few of his sockets into the tank. Little bits of wood maybe, but the other stuff, that aint no accident.
