06 volvo ecr 88 over heating

I have an early ECR88. When its in the 90s it runs toward the top of the gauge with the AC off. With AC on it will run hotter. I've seen comments from other owners that their units ran hot. My dealer said there's no kit or update to increase cooling. I went through the cooling system and...

    D6R Track Wear

I live about 50 miles from Canton Connecticut. I can't think of any horribly abrasive conditions there. Building and land development has been in a slump for a few years so I could see it sitting for a while. Sounds like you have a better alternative though. Jim

Seppi BMS mini or ? for midi excavator mulcher

Hi. Looking to do some private clearing in a rocky and/or steep area. Invasive brush like Russian olive and dense trees (beech, maple, some oak) from 1/2 to 6 inches. Does anyone have experience with the Seppi BMS mini fixed tooth mulch head on a midi excavator? Seppi mulch heads in general...

Extra Counter Weight on Zero Turn?

Earlier Volvo ECRs (58 and 88) came with a standard weighted tail and an optional counterweight. Later Plus and lettered models had the counterweight standard.

You may be able to get some parts from Komatsu dealers. Winmill Equipment in VT/NH is also a Dressta (formerly Dresser) dealer and may be able to give input.

    Dresser Dozer Maintenance Video

Thanks for sharing. I have a TD9H and the video is a nice addition to the operators manual. Mine must be a later model as the trans fill is behind the right access door. Its a farm dozer now so the hours go on slow.

I remember checking this book out of the library and reading it in grade school. The picture brought back memories - thanks!

    JD 350 question

I found this guide helpful. http://www.tractorparts.com/PDFs/undrcarguide.pdf. jdcrawlers is another forum with lots of info on early JD machines (mods - I apologize if this is frowned on). I second g-man's recommendation to find someone who knows the machine and pay for a final check before...

    What size Excavatorfor Land Clearing?

I'll second Scrub Puller's comments to be careful. Many of the trees here have broken branches hanging up high. Others have rotten sections up high. I have pushed over a few trees with the excavator but don't feel comfortable pushing over big trees with only an excavator rops over me. I...

    Dresser TD9 UC wear specs

Thanks GG. I'm having a problem getting definite specs. Visually things look good, but looks can be deceiving. I'll try calling Dressta and see if I can get something from them. Jim

    What size Excavatorfor Land Clearing?

I have an 18,000 lb excavator with hydraulic thumb (Volvo ECR88) and a Kubota 5240 with grapple. My technique is to drop the trees with a chainsaw, move the trunk in pieces and dig the stump. All hardwood here and rocky soil. The 18000 lb excavator works but it is slow digging bigger stumps...

    Thumb install

Deeretracks - The cylinder mount includes a diamond shaped plate the ears are welded to. The plate is about 5 x 9 and 5/8 inch thick. Doesn't seem like much area for welding. I can add a doubler between the cylinder mount and stick to spread the force over a longer but not wider area. I will...
