loading a scraper in 3rd gear?

Personally i really like the g scraper, ive been running a 37g2 for 3 years now and have no complaints, plenty of power fast hydraulics, i really like how fast it raps up, rides ok for a scraper, only complaint is cat stereo isnt loud enough and its not a 57.

loading a scraper in 3rd gear?

Personally I never do it, over the years I have worked with people who do, or at least try the shotgun method, load the first part in 3rd then lug it til it grabs 2nd. We are running 6 637g 2. They have less than 2000 hrs on them, two of them are having trans probs. they wont shift back into...

duck walking, what are the causes an what ways do you deal with it?

i ran alot of b,c,d and e models and never had an issue with duck walking till the series 2 e. i dont know how they are balanced different or what but they naturally swing or rock side to side just driving in the lower gears, the g models are the worst, dont know about the elevating scrapers...

duck walking, what are the causes an what ways do you deal with it?

i have learned that like mentioned, start digging with only your front motor until you get some dirt in there then floor em both, when dumping you have to be fast opening your lip and crowding out your dirt right away, matching your rpms to your ground speed, keep her rapped up. i use my tranny...

    hard surfaceing ripper points

The reason the point is so important in the material im in is because its just layer after of shale; ive ripped hard white rock to granite, where it actually took skill finding an edge turning to different angles, this stuff is nothing like that, with a good point its just put it in and rip in a...

    hard surfaceing ripper points

thankyou, so much nige, and others for their input also, really frusterating when production suffers due to a ripper point thats worn out. i knew we were missing something, we have had the 11 for 6 years but took the double shank off for the single, they own d 9 and 10s but they all have the one...

Who has the lowest TCO CAT D11 or Komatsu D475

that is the biggest draw back to running multiple shifts, one operator could care less how he runs a machine because he cant be singled out.

    hard surfaceing ripper points

the number is stamped like you said, i just assumed it was cat, thats all they buy is cat. i work in a purely slot dozing setup, the dirt is like nothing you have seen before, it has a 65% swell factor, just hard pressed shale, if you try to grind on it without ripping it , you tear out huge...

    hard surfaceing ripper points

does it help? are they hard surfaced already? we use cat points, and arent getting very many hrs out of them, they told me they are 500 dollars a piece, when it gets to the point where it doesnt rip very well there is alot of iron still left on the point, its on a d11 so its a big point wide...

Open Bowl VS elevating scraper for 9inch topsoil removal on 100acres

another thing to consider is an elevating scraper really dries the dirt out, if its dry now it will be really dry after you move it with a paddlewheel.
