    DT466 Start-up Problem

I have everything imaginable to work on a gas engine, but no diesel tools! I guess maybe for piece of mind, I'll make an appt. with the local truck shop, leave it over night for them, and get a diagnosis. Thanks, Tim

    DT466 Start-up Problem

I started the truck tonight, and it immediately did the same think, stumbled and missed and puked smoke out of it. So I let it idle in the dooryard for 30 minutes and then check it again. It rev'ed up smoothly without hesitation and no stumble. I can live with letting it idle/warm up for...

    DT466 Start-up Problem

We have had the 15ppm diesel for several years now. I'll take a look at those products next time I stop at the parts store. Thanks, Tim

    DT466 Start-up Problem

Thanks a lot for the advice. Would the fact that it drives great once warmed up still indicate a possible injector problem or compression issue? Aside from the difficulty at start-up it drive great, and I am really happy with the truck. Tim

    DT466 Start-up Problem

I am not even close to being capable of going through the injectors, doing compression checks etc on this engine. Is this necessary, or should I just live with it? Basically that is all that it needs, is to "clear it's throat". Once I get on it when on the road, it is fine and no problems...

    DT466 Start-up Problem

It's a DT466. I've let it idle as long as 15 minutes before taking off, it didn't seem to make any difference. Tim

    DT466 Start-up Problem

I recently purchased a '97 International 4700 with the dt466 engine. When I first start the truck and it is cold, I let it warm up for at least a few minutes sometimes longer 10-15 minutes before I try to take off. When I first take off the truck can barely get out of it's own way. It...

Converter fluid level on Deere 210C

I am looking at picking up an '87 Deere 210C 4x4. I am awaiting a manual to arrive. I know where to check the engine oil and hydraulic fluid level, but where do I check the torque converter/reverser system fluid level. I am planning to drive this about 15 miles home, and want to make sure all...

    Forks for full size bucket

Thanks guys. Looks like the way to go. There must be some way to make a bracket or something to prevent the forks from swinging when you try to dump something. I anticipate most of my use would be picking up and moving looks from the woods to the woodpile for firewood, so dumping would be...

    this guy's not real bright

Why didn't he just pick himself back up? I am not a professional operator, but I do have a little seat time. It doesn't look that difficult? Tim

    Forks for full size bucket

Are these the style that are a set of forks mounted on a solid piece of round rod. Then you dump the bucket, drive up to the rod, curl the bucket and use the forks? I found this setup online, and think it is exactly what I want. No need to remove the bucket, and you can grab the forks, use...

    Forks for full size bucket

Hi, I am hopefully picking up a Deere 210C in a week or so. It does not have any sort of quick attach bucket, but I have a need for pallet forks. It seems the clamp on forks with a decent weight capacity may be a bit too heavy to put on and off easily. Is there a system that is available...

I saw one today that would rival that one...it was headed to the scrap yard! Tim

    Synthetic eng oil ??

I use synthetic in my truck, but recently have been told I might consider regular oil as the synthetic is too slippery...I didn't think that was a bad thing?? Tim
