    Used backhoe's

Kubota, New Holland and John Deere all make a removable hoe- but they are a smaller size than a full size hoe. There is a trade off because of the mounting methods. Removable hoes will do good work but they have their limitations.

    TCH Fluid specifics

The Wal Mart-and other cheap brands-usually say "manufactured to met". They do NOT say that it actually mets the Case spec. Unless it states on the container that it meets the actual spec it would be better to stay with Case TCH. It is still available at the Case dealer.

    backhoe center Swing Pins

I just got a backhoe and I can not get grease into the pins that support the hoe where it mounts (swing side to side). I've removed the zerk and it passes grease. I don't see an easy way to get the pins out either (you can not get to them do drift it out). What should I try?

    Case 480C TLB

Had the same window roller problem with my 680 Case. I found that a garage door roller was the perfect diameter for a replacement. Just needed to short the stem and thread the end. cost was $1.75.

    Rebuilding the 580B instrument gauges

Thanks for your help. I would have used the stick method but Case put so many bends in the fuel filler tube, I can not even get a syphon hose into the tank. Had to take the fuel pump line off to drain the tank. Thanks for the alternatives.

    Rebuilding the 580B instrument gauges

These are the pictures of the sender. The internal wiring is no longer there. The pictures show the inside of the sender housing. I'm not sure what is supposed to be there. Is ther a way I can rebuid it to make it work? A new unit is $145 from Case.

    Case 680g backhoe

Just bought this 1979 unit. Noticed that fluid from the power shuttle (TCH fluid) is migrating into the transmission (75-90 gear lube). Question is--how hard is it to fix the seal? Does the transmission and torque converter have to come out? Is the seal internal or external on the torque...

    Rebuilding the 580B instrument gauges

Checked the sender. A digital VOM showed no change in resistance from terminal to ground (I guess that is infinite resistance). The tank is full.

    Rebuilding the 580B instrument gauges

It is a 1979 Case 680G backhoe. Am having trouble with the fuel gauge. Don't know if it is the sender or the gauge. How do I test the sender? If I install a new gauge does it have to be calibrated with the sender?

    Case 680G electrical

I'm having trouble with a no start. I think it is in the key switch-but not sure. Everything was working until I repaced a headlight, then the system went dead. Is the voltage to the switch supposed to be 24 volt or did they step it down? Do the gauges and headlights use 24 volt? The electrical...

    Question about fluids

The key is to read the labels. If the label says it meets Case spec then use it. Some cheaper fluids do not list the spec equvilant and some (Walmart, Sams) say not for heavy duty use.

    Bent stablilizer rod

You might look at a used cylinder from a tractor salvage. Does not necessarily have to be from a backhoe, just match the cylinder size.

    Newbie...4in1 bucket...what's the use?

Lots of uses as described in the other forums. I like the ability to open the clam and close it over a stump or piece of concrete I'm having trouble getting in the bucket.

Fix it or part it out?

$1300 sounds like a lot of money, but in the long run the invesment is worth it.
