    Takeuchi TB035- too old?

Takeuchi final drive AHhh, bummer Bob, thats no good. When I pulled mine apart I was able to take out the broken chunks, file the knashed teeth and get it going again. (At least for a while.....) Good luck on a quote for a rebuild, I didn't have any luck even finding anyone that would try...

    Takeuchi TB035- too old?

You can always print it out if you need a section for hard copy garage work. I printed the section out on mine, hard to work on a track motor with a laptop. :-)

    Takeuchi TB035- too old?

Personally, I would just use regular gear oil, unless your machine Specifies something else. In the end, anything you put in will be 100% better than dry gears Eating themselves to death. I don't see synthetic as having any properties (other than being expensive) That would benefit the drive...

    Takeuchi TB035- too old?

Just to be clear, when I say "When in doubt, dump it out" I'm referring to the fluids, not the machine! ;-) Its super cheap insurance. lack of proper lubrication is the hammer of death for these things.

    Takeuchi TB035- too old?

As well you should be, it's generally the only thing that goes wrong with those machines. I had a quote of 6k but was also told that getting just one would make it no longer track straight, as the OEM unit is NLA and all they could get would be something close. So, when in doubt, dump it out...

Best mini Excavator for the money

Probably less rain, and more the 4090 hours. ;-) As long as you keep the grease to it, that machine will probably run forever. One word of caution I can give you though, change the oil in the main drive motors frequently. One of mine crapped out, and there are no replacements to be found...

Best mini Excavator for the money

Do you mean rusty? The rain shouldn't wear anything.

    Hi from VA

Personally, I'd go for the small tractor with an FEL. You can use it for everything, and add implements as needed. (Or as your budget allows.) A utility vehicle (Unless its a $38k tool cat, will be limited to carrying things around, most of them don't have any real capacity for road grading...

    I hate thieves !

Wrong is wrong, there are bad people in any nation, none of them are exempt from all laws....

    I hate thieves !

Wow, that's a drag. Even if you do get it back, if its missing rims and tires, it will probably cost more to restore it to drivable condition than it will be worth. If you can confirm any of this, I think the people to talk to might be 16X9 or some other TV program that specializes in stuff...

Well hello back, looks like you have quite the fleet there.

    I hate thieves !

Yup, secondary measures are always a really good idea. A friend of mine first day on the job site, and asked the owner what measures they were to take to secure the cats. "Oh, we just take the keys out of them." My buddy wiped out his personal collection of keys, (As back in those days they...

    I hate thieves !

And the worst part about it, is some methhead probably sold it for scrap. (That would be the first places I'd be checking.) At the College where I work, our facilities guys caught some punks pulling the copper down spouts off from an OCCUPIED building.... How did they catch them you might ask...

    Kubota K008 Slew Ring

Yea, the Tak model of machine support for ten years just wasn't viable for me. When I bought my Takeuchi TB25 I just assumed that it would be like my Kubota, and I would just order the parts...... Unfortunatly, the parts were listed as NLA.... B-( I've never had that problem with Kubota.

    Kubota K008 Slew Ring

All of the work, none of the fun... B-\ I had to go through the same thing rebuilding my Takeuchi, trial by fire. On the bright side, all of the parts are still available from Kubota, if it was an older Takeuchi you might be in trouble...
