Hello I'm new here I hope I'm doing this right. I have a kobelco sk220 mark 4, serial #LLU2224. My question is that when i bring my stick in it will get almost all the way in and then go " limp " or hesitates for a second before coming all the way in. Is there anything that can be about this ?

Has anyone installed a dozer blade on a SK135 SRLC - YH02? Is there a lot of additional parts required (is it costly), and where can i get these parts? Thanks.

Kobelco 120 purchase?

Looking at a Kobelco 120 excavator for my own land use and current owner knows very little about machine. Any things I should look for apart from usual wear and tear items. She believes it is a 1996 and it is setup for a log processor and has a dig bucket but no thumb. Comes with processor a Keto 150. Stick hydraulics are on bottom but look like they can be moved back to top for digging. Any input would be appreciated. Some mechanics in our area say stay away from Kobelco but I think lack of experience creates fear as there are not many of that brand around here.

We have moved on and now were lost....
Brian both the dipper ram and the main lifting rams have been moved.this may affect the digging performance of the machine. New holland now provide parts back up for kobelcos here. There is no quick hitch either.

Slew Sump Grease

I'm posting here in case this thread is still being monitored for general Kobelco questions. I'm new to heavy equipment (and the forum) but know my way around gas powered cars.

I recently got a gray market Kobelco (Mark V or Super model, I believe - can't find a Serial Number plate anywhere). I would like to find factory manuals in English or manuals for a close equivalent machine. I want to go through it and learn more about it before I just jump in and start using it.

I started by draining the slew sump to get rid of any water before winter. I got a few drops of water and a sausage gravy consistency grease. I got about two quarts of it and there is more in there. I replaced the plate before it stopped draining. I'm assuming this should have a moly (paste grease), correct? I'm Looking for information on what to do about the sump, guessing that this should be drained out and regreased. I haven't found the top access plate to apply new grease. Grease type/brand recommendations would be helpful. More questions likely in the future. I have pictures, but do not have permissions for attachments. Thanks.

I just want to add that the color of the grease was also like sausage gravy - light tan. (I don't have permissions to edit my post, either). Thanks, again.

SK120LC electrical

Mr. Kobelco,
I recently purchased a used 1994 Kobelco SK120LC(YP02028). Has a wrench picture on screen when powered up. Had some minor electrical issues that I have been handling. I have found what I believe to be a RPM sensor on the bell housing that is fried. I am in the process of getting this one replaced. I have noticed that the engine speed control does not work, nor does the temp gauge or fuel gauge(maybe). I wondered if you could help at all. Thanks!

rgarv,

The person who started this thread as Mr. Kobelco has resigned from this forum and started his own. There are other forum member, grandkobelco among them, who I have seen offering advice here.

I doubt the bad rpm sensor is the cause of the wrench on your screen, altho you do need a good sensor for the c1 controller to handle the engine and hyd pump output. It has been my expeirence the wrench meens bad c2 controller or bad dash. Both are expensive. The engine dose'nt rev up from the throttle controll? This is a function of the c1 controller and the stepping motor and "normaly" wouldn't put a wrench on the screen. It would say "CPU " or "STEP MOTOR FAIL". Is your serial# YPO or YPU?

I'm new to heavy equipment (and the forum) but know my way around gas powered cars.

I recently got a gray market Kobelco LE SK60V. I want to go through it and learn more about it before I just jump in and start using it.

I started by draining the slew sump to get rid of any water before winter. I got a few drops of water and a sausage gravy consistency grease. I got about two quarts of it and there is more in there. Here are pictures of the grease that came out of the slewing gear sump.

Since I am new to hydraulics and tracked machines I'm looking all over for information on basic maintenance procedures like how to check hydraulic fluid (are there any conditions that have to be met when it is checked like should the attachment pistons be in any particular position when checking, what should the fluid temperature be, etc?), track maintenance, and any other right/wrong ways of doing things. I purchased repair and service manuals (SK60V) for the machine but they don't cover these basics. An operators manual for this machine or an equivalent machine would be great. I found this, but have doubts about the trustworthiness of the web site:

Thanks.

Dont know exactly how this works , but i hope Mr. Kobleco will see this... using a 70 SR, dont ask me what year cause i dont have a clue, has a small izuzu diesel in it, a thumb, model # sk70sr-1e, serial#YTO4-08173... Anyway, oil level is fine, hydralic level is fine , antifreeze good, batteries seem fine, no loss of power in the lights so i would assume everthing is charging well, but while i use the machine the cpu light or alarm is periodically coming on...After about an hour and a half of good fast paced work, the engine starts to stumble and will stall... I let it sit for a bit and it will be ok for about five mins then start all over again...IF i leave it overnight, samething, about one and a half in and it starts to stumble and stall, i was thinking maybe try to bleed the lines when it starts to stumble, guess im just asking for a few ideas...Got any...would be greatly appreciated thanx...

Hello mr. kobelco , I have a 1999 sk150 lc iv ser# ymu 2180 ,I am having problems with the throttle or possibly the cpu. the machine when first fired up will operat all of the functions properly. Meaning that the throttle dial ,auto accel,t four dig settings ect. After about 20 seconds the machine will go to a idle and none of the throttle functions will work as there supposed to. If i turn the key off one klick and then right back on they will all work again for the same amount of time. also the guage controller does not work none of the displayes work on it. do you have any idea where these can be repaired or replaced resonably. I have one on my 150 lc III as well that needs replaced, thanks

jgsailor To be clear, I am not mrkobelco, go to post 671 on this thread and you can find information on how to contact him. This sounds like a fuel problem to me. Open up the panal behind the cab door, mounted under the air fillter there should be a water trap with a screen in it, check to see if this has a lot of crud in it. There is a o-ring between the plastic cup and the base make sure it is good and in place when you reinstall it.

I work for a dealer and never had much luck with used ones or getting them repaired. You will need a multimeter to do electrical test on the stepping motor. How much play is in the output shaft? Also check the ball joints they should be freemoving, not worn out and not seized.
