Rabbit,
The local Hitachi dealer has the parts and service manual because I managed to get hold of these books 4 years ago. A work mate knew
someone at the Hitachi dealer and he got the books for me, I had to return it though and now I am kicking myself for not copying it for future use.
I have never had problems getting parts for my machine, so far I have purchased engine mounts, swivel hub seals from my local Hitachi dealer
and engine parts (gaskets) from a local industrial engine Isuzu dealer because I have a 3AD1 turbo charged 3 cylinder diesel in my EX50URG.
I will approach the parts guys at the Hitachi dealer and see if they will lend me the manuals again and I will get a copy, PDF it into file's and send it to you,
how's that!, I will have a go, the guys at the local Hitachi dealer are pretty helpful. My turbo (compressor wheel) recently started to make contact with its housing and I was told that these turbo's are no longer available worldwide so the local MTQ turbo repair folks rebuilt mine for $1100.00. I will let you know in regards to manuals.
regards
Abdul :Banghead

Abdul: Gee thanks that would be great. We have no Hitachi dealer near here so it is JD. Everytime I call them for parts they give me a bad time about my grey market machine and how hard it is to get anything for it.
They wanted 1,000 US for the rear plastic window that goes behind the operator seat. I got some Plexiglass from the lumber yard and some angle iron and made my own. For less than 50 US :)

Have a goodday,

I am from North Dakota and live on a 20 acre ranch and have four horses. My hobbies include team roping, horse back riding, boating and tubing. I work as an operator at a coal fired power plant and have some experience with some heavy equipment, scuh as screpers, dozers, front-end loaders, and skid steers. I have 2002 242 Caterpillar skid steer that I use around my ranch to move snow, clean my corals and unload and move round bales. I look forward to using this site seems to have alot of information about equipment.

hello all,
I found this site while researching topics on a repair I was doing. I am a 20yr veteran of the equipment industry. I currently work for a municipality as a fleet and equipment mechanic. Mostly work on backhoes, small loaders, skidsteer, track, excavators, power equipment, trucks, and agricultural tractors and attatchments. I enjoy the variety of equipment which keeps me busy through out the year. I am also a firefighter with also 20yrs on the job. My youngest son wants to get into the repair bussiness, so I enjoy watching him learn and helping him learn the trade. As I look at all the forum topics I see a wealth of info from other members and hope to learn from them too. I hope as being a member that I can help someone with their equipment issues and contribute like so many have done. The equipment is getting more hi tech, and down time costs money. I look forward to be part of this forum.

Hi everyone. Sick&tired here in north mexifornia- for now. Im new to this site, but a fellow equipment junky. I could never afford the new stuff, so i always run the old outdated machines that always need wrenching and or repairs. Ive owned a few tractors over the years, but i prefer crawlers. Tractors ive owned are,
Allis Chalmers model M with Dozer
Case D450 crawler loader
Case 580K 4x4 backhoe
Daewoo solar 035 excavator
Takeuchi TL 126 compact track loader- currently using

Hey everyone, good to be here.

Ive' been at it for close to 30 yrs now. I run about anything commonly used.

When I was around 7 yrs old a friend and I were walking through the woods and followed the sound of a dozer at work. I saw a fresh clearing with a hole cut for a house. A man on a cat backed up over a pile of brush and got behind it then rolled it out. COOL! Thats what I wanted to do for a living.

Ha ha
I've always operated for others but I just purchased my own machine. I figure this poor economy may bring opportunity to do my own thing. We'll see..

Hopeful Future Construction Equipment Mechanic
Ello =)

I'm very interested in getting into a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprenticeship. Hopefully I'll be signing on in a few months to go into a program. If anyone has any info for me regarding the requirements to become an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Repairman/Mechanic, it'd be greatly appreciated. Or even information on how to get a job at all as one, union or non-union.

Studying in getting more familiarity with Mechanical Concepts etc. (getting a higher Mechanical Aptitude)

I'm also verymuch interested in becoming an Equipment Operator as well.

everything about the machines from operating to fixing them, is of very high interest to me. I have experience doing Carpentry, Cement Masonry, and Landscaping stuff. But when I got on a machine for the first time doing a Landscaping Gig, that was it. It was awesome feeling out the machine, ripping up the landscape (shaving the top lair of a grass field going uphill with a skidrow? ) it was fun. And figuring out how to fix something as simple as its track was very interesting as well.

But anyways, to keep from writing a novel. Any information on how to become an Equipment Operator, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic would be greatly appreciated. =)

I hope to learn a great deal on these forums about the Industry.
