i guess one of the propeller heads forgot to run this sewer stub to its destination. since they laid the main others have come in to put in a 78" and 54" no joint storm drain that are side by side and a joint trench system full of love conduits and a gas line. the sewer is stubbed out of the manhole about 2' and its 16' deep. im not sure what i need for buckets as ive arrived this morning and have not seen yet the area i have to dig. i get no time to plan the dig. the foreman has got a few different sizes of multishores and trench jacks if needed. upon arriving i see they sent a komatsu 300!! damn, we have 400's and 600's and they send me a little tonka toy!! this is really shaping up to be a ball buster. i see they pot holed every thing with a little hoe. the exsisting stuff is pretty close to each other..i was able to uncover the stud and get about 3 or so feet under the 78" but no more as my stick was hitting the top of the manhole. on the other side of the 54" which is poured right next to the 78" i only had 4' between the joint trench and 54" so i had to dig that sideways. the one pic shows me leveling the side of the ditch so i will be flat..i open cut the rest then we put a piece of 12" ductile pipe in the ditch on grade and i pushed it under the 54" & 78" no joint. we then pulled it out and we had a little tunnel thru there on grade but a little off on alignment. so we brought a piece of 30" ductile over to make the hole bigger!1 kinda overkill with the 30" but its all we had laying around.. i didnt think the ol 300 would band ot thru the 5-7' we needed but it did!! mission accomplished..boy..this sure is a big ditch to wheel

Nice pics, I feel you pain & frustration but bear in mind that if that had been in the UK nobody would have missed the stub until the houses were built and the roads were in :D and that is nearer the truth than you would ever believe.
