:usa Onlookers throughout the Poconos gathered on the I-80 overpasses as they awaited the 28-truck convoy, which began its procession through the region at about 10:30 a.m.

The massive steel remnants of the fallen World Trade Center towers are being returned to Coatesville, the Pennsylvania town where they were made more than four decades ago. The structural supports are called "steel trees" because of their upward branching shape.

Forged in 1969 by Lukens Steel Co., the 10 supports weigh 50 tons each. They framed the twin towers' first nine floors and massive lobbies before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The mile-long procession is expected to arrive in Coatesville later this afternoon, where it will be greeted with a procession through the city and a ceremony. :usa
