My user manual of my 1991 chevy 2500 truck says use Dexron II.
But allot of "new" atf oils emerged in the years and i am not sure which is the best choice ?
So what of type oil and make do u use in a 700r4 trans and why?

GM stopped renewing the licenses for blenders the earlier Dexron formulas. Usually I look for something that says 'for applications calling for the former Dexron II/IIE/III or something like that. I usually don't use the VI blend in these applications though some people do.
