I am curious about the leak detection using helium. With all the new regs. since Walkerton, is this an accepted practice by the Ministry?
Thanks
Mike.

We used the helium method before Walkerton, not sure how the Ministry would veiw it now. Will check it out though.

Helium use for leak detection is an acceptable method. Remember, after you have located and repaired your leak you still have to potentially chlorinate and flush, or at least at the minimum collect samples for potability.

It's the samples the ministry is concerned with. Everything before that is only municipal procedures which are generally completely wrong.
