here are the pictures of Nick's scrapers (Showpony).
First 3 are of 101F and G Wabco scrapers, then the 222G. I'll let him clue you all in as to the what and where!
Glad to help, Nick!
Also, a link to the family business!

Nick, check out this forum in the UK. They'll want to see these too. I'll post them if you need the help.

Thanks Allan627b
HEF is a great forum.
Its great to see the older and newer members of the industry sharing ideas and information.

My name is Nick Yeatman my brother Hoss & I run an ag contracting business in Mid Canterbury NZ. Check out our website www.agcontracting.co.nz (needs updating).

The first 2 pics are 3 101fs & a 101g belong to Len Rankin Earthmoving's from Tekauwhata just south of Auckland, we purchased the machine with the primer cowl for parts. as far as I know the rest are still for sale, they also have a large inventory of parts for 101fs.

The 2 222 pics are of a machine we imported from Drurion Australia in Oct 08, port pic is in Lyttleton NZ. Transporter is ours, trailer is an MTE Made in NZ, 3 rows of 8 widening unit with an 11 meter bed, ideal for larger scrapers.

The 3rd pic is one of our 101fs building stopbanks in South Canterbury, for those that may be interested the machine is made up from 2 originally owned by Francis Earthmoving from Christchurch NZ, we purchased the machine from Issac Construction when they took over Francis,s equipment in 2002.
Anyone looking for a cure for the top shaft and elevator gearbox woes that beset these otherwise reliable machines should flick us an email and we will show them our modification.

Hi Jim,
Do you have any pics of the 252? I would love to see some, I have heard owners of 252's won't part with them, so they must be a good machine

Weaknees,
I dont have any here, or in digital format.
I did take quite a few after she got a paint job a few years back.

Youre right, the Wabco product seemed to have got the scraper design right, the 252 FT is a great machine.

Ill have to dig through the archives and find the photos and scan them to here.

Ive spent a good deal of time on a 101 G and 101 F, the 252 FT gives a great ride, and no cushion hitch!

Still would like to see the elusive 353 FT.

cheers
Jim

A very brave C-Pull operator putting on a show during construction of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, Australia, early 1960's.

A fantastic post guys.
There is a company here in Western Australia that bought the old Wabco scrapers from Christmas Island and put the bowls behind 651B prime movers. The Wabcat is what they called them and are still in use to this day.Unfortunately no pics. The 51`s were repowered with KT19 Cummins engines as well.

Yeah, and an electrically charged hippo at that! Remember they have electrical motors for the steering and bowl functions!
Brave or stupid, often opposite sides of the same coin. Looks cool though!:notworthy

Great photos of the 353ft and 333ft,
I did hear that getting suitable chains for the 353 were difficult. A kiwi fellow i met said he used D4 dozer chains on his 252FT, he did say it more than doubled the life of his chains. A really nice fellow he had about two of them and a 259FT.
