urethane for gaskets?

i have to rebuild a Doosan D24 it uses loctite 5900 for most all the gaskets. I was curious if anyone has used regular urethane like you would use on a windshield. I would think that would work great on the timing cover, split crankcase, and oil pan, any one agree?

If you are talking about what I think you are talking about I'm sure it would work fine. I sure would feel sorry for the next guy that has to tear it down. Silicone sealer is a better option.
