Trimble GCSFlex Question

I am seriously considering a 2D Trimble GCSFlex system, but I can't seem to get a good answer on the need for the heading sensor. This sensor adds about $3,500.00 to the price. My question is, does anybody run this system with the sensor or without it and what is your experience. Thanks for any responses.

I don't have one, but since no-one has given an answer I ponder, are you planning to do slope work with this unit, or flat grading? Might make a difference.
