I just bought a mid 90's Takeuchi TL26 CTL

I bought it knowing that the drive motors are not pulling.
The right side does pull a few inches and then stops, no strain on the engine when it does. The left side does not pull at all, again no strain on the engine. When I was towing it off the trailer, if I release the safety lock..the right side motor locks up, but left side does not. So the parking brake on the left side isnt working either (not important to me at the moment, but just some more clues). The previous owner said someone in his company replaced the right side drive motor.

I starting doing some tests on this machine and found that I have around 500 psi from the joysticks to the HST pump when the pilot controls are activated. I checked all 4 high pressure relief valves on the HST, no debris or broken springs. Checked the low pressure relief valve on the HST and nothing obvious stood out, although the spring seems a little weak. I checked charge flow right at the HST and it has plenty. I also inadvertently checked the charge pressure at the HST pump, by putting the gauge on the line coming into the HST from the charge pump, and found out the hard way the the relief for that circuit is in the HST, not the sub valve like the diagram shows, blew the charge filter housing right apart. So there is flow and pressure coming into the HST. So I have charge and I have pilot. I have 1500 psi going into the right side drive motor, nothing on the left. No brass shavings in the suction strainer, only a small amount of ferrous metals (magnetic).

What could be the problem?
These HST pumps have no parts available to rebuild them. I want to tear them down to check for wear or broken parts but if I break one seal while doing that, I could be in a world of hurt with no parts available to put it back together.

Pump is an Eaton Sumitomo SP3434-528
Thanks for any input
