Moral of the story then is it is a bad ass plasma cutter if I hook it up to the proper power source, otherwise it is a boat anchor.
Well not exactly, i have that exact machine.
Cutting 1/2" plate is the limit, and slow at that.

What is it worth if I sell it on Craigslist?

Priced a new Hypotherm yesterday, think it was a 35 or a 45, $2000 price range.
I paid $150...but had to put a new torch on it ($80 from Ebay)
I see them trying to get $500-$800 on craigslist.

I have an old Hobart 10,000 watt welder/generator that has about 3000 hrs on it and has had a pretty hard life. I use that to run a Hobart 45 amp plasma. I built an adaptor for the plug in. You just need to 2 hot wires and the ground wired in, don't worry about the 4th wire.
