The front of the barge was on bottom and we were right beside the boat (which had been pulled off the shore and sunk up to the gunnel) but the shore was rocky and we were worried about the barge slipping back and well you know what could happen (barge tilts, radius increases, barge tilts more, crane slides sideways on steel deck shifting it own weight closer to the edge....) so yes we had the crane chained to keep it in position. The sauna was light and we were able to keep it close enough the there was no tilting of the barge when we where over the side. The barge guys know whats up at the first bit of concern they were off the barge with a rock drill and put in a pin to chain the barge to shore...nice.
