Can the rotor be reversed on the Cat RM250C for grinding. Can we physically drop the rotor and install 180 degrees and grind for smaller/finer material vs chunks?

Don't know, but wouldn't you have to reverse the drum rotation if you did and is that possible? One question, are you using the correct rotor for the material you're in?

yes you can rotate the rotor,flip the whole diff assembly over 180deg and reposition the chain tensioner to the opposite which the machine is designed to accommodate this proceedure. the problem is that the machine then wants to self feed lurch forward in bounds when you engage tough cutting conditions, similar to a rotary hoe on a tree root. this is why stabilizing or recycling drums always cut up at the front.
