They would put shanks in those boxes to help tear up stumps when building road if they couldn't dig it up. Iv welded old sprocket segments on to lots of buckets for the operator

Sprocket sections welded on back of bucket, similar place to those boxes? How are they used, kind of like a cheese grater? Trying to picture it. Cheers. (apologies for thread hijacking)
