This photo was taken about 1916 on my Grandfathers farm. I grew up there. The threshing machine and steam engine are both Aultman-Taylors. He purchased them new. The man on the hayrack is Charlie Johnson, a hired man and he is pitching oat shocks into the threshing machine. The threshing machine is blowing the straw up into the hayloft. Notice the dust coming out of the hayloft doors. The water wagon is not in sight but you can see the hoses hooked up to the tank that supplied the boiler. The threshing equipment was retired in 1937. That was the year Grampa purchased a brand new John Deere Model A. We still have the John Deere in its original condition (including the lugged steel wheels) and it still runs.

Thanks for the neat picture. It's cool to see how things were done 100 years ago.
